Adrian Reynard designed and built his first racing car whilst at Cranfield Aeronautical College in the early 70's. He also operated a part time business manufacturing race car components and Alan Cornock became one of his early customers placing orders for the supply of Royale parts.
Over the following years Royale and Reynard expanded and became rivals in Formula Ford 1600 & Formula Ford 2000 events throughout the world both achieving major results and respect for each others products.
In 1987 after Reynard had ceased to trade as a main stream race car manufacture Alan Cornock via FCS was appointed by Reynard to market and distribute their F/F1600 - F/F2000 models. This soon expanded to the assembly of the vehicles and the manufacture of certain components and a total of 200 cars were produced by FCS on behalf of Reynard from 1987 to 1992.
Sales outlets and dealers were appointed by FCS throughout the world and a very successful race team was also ran during this period which gained the Formula Ford Constructors Championship for Reynard Cars.
The contract terminated in 1992, but FCS still specialise in the supply of Reynard F/F1600 and F/F2000 vehicles as well as offering a comprehensive spare parts service.
The Reynard Formula Ford Cars are currently being raced very successfully in a variety of club events and are considered to be the car to beat in the Pre 90 section of the Kent F/F1600 Championship.
Many cars have also found their way into the various sprint and hillclimb series where they are proving to be very popular due to their strength and design simplicity.
